So pretty much everyone who reads this blog (all five of you) knows that I was scheduled for bilateral subpectoral augmentation mammoplasty yesterday. That's the official medical term for it. I called it getting new boobs.
Many of you also know that I have horrific migraines. The only thing that I've found that knocks out my migraines is Excedrin Migraine. Unfortunately, Excedrin Migraine contains aspirin, something I was not allowed to take before my surgery. It thins the blood out.
So what strikes THE NIGHT BEFORE my surgery? One of the worst migraines I've had in two years. Fucker. And I can't take anything for it! I got maybe 3 hours of sleep Tuesday night, and I'm sure I looked like death warmed over by the time I got to the surgery center.
The I.V. they gave me helped quite a bit with my sugar levels, but didn't get rid of the migraine. I spoke with the anesthesiologist when he came in, and he said that most patients who come in with a migraine do not have one when they wake up. They think it's because of the high concentrate of oxygen you get during surgery. And when I woke up, I didn't have migraine anymore! I was so very happy.
Honestly, I'm currently in quite a bit of pain, but it is NOTHING compared to my migraine. What's really weird is that most of the actual pain is right below my breast area, around my upper abdomen. It's also a bit swollen, but they said it would be because of sleeping on an incline like they wanted me too, so my actual breasts don't swell up.
I have a lot more arm movement than I thought I would, too. A lot of the women I know couldn't lift their arms up at all, and I have no issues. Of course, I'm moving around very slowly so as not to invite the pain, and I'm not lifting anything heavy, like my two-year old.
Tomorrow is my follow up appointment with my surgeon, and I should be able to take a nice hot shower when I get home. I can't wait for that!
Thanks for all the well-wishes, everyone. They really meant a lot to me.

I swear, I did not fall off the face of the earth!
Just the internet.
And it's two days and counting, so don't expect too much from me for the next week or so.

May Madness
Our schedule for the month of May is INSANE. And it's my own damn fault. Oh well.
9th - Matt graduates from pre-school
14th - surgery @ 9:45am
18th - Niece graduates from high school
19th - Josie's birthday; I have a follow-up appt with my surgeon
23rd - Niece's going away party, she reports to Army boot camp on the 27th
24th - our annual May BBQ
28th - Dresden Dolls concert
Here's to happy (and fast!) healing! Too much shit to do to be laid up in pain.
Did I mention that we haven't even told the in-laws that I'm having surgery (let alone what for), and I have to see them 4 days after? Should be fun!

In which there was cake...
Boob cake!*

Spyder has a complete list of everyone who showed up last night. I want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes and good luck wishes for the upcoming surgery. You guys are the best!
*For anyone who wants to know, we got our cake from Vivian. I'm gonna see if she can do a Thomas the Tank Engine cake for Matt's birthday in August. Cause he would L.O.V.E. that!

The worst part about getting a baseline mammogram before my upcoming surgery?
Getting up at the butt-crack of dawn to be on time for my 7:30am appointment.
I'd have a much more coherent post, except I'm still not awake yet, even though it's almost 10am!

Must See!
Tickets go on sale Saturday for a show at the Beaumont Club on May 28th. Keith and I will be attending this concert, I don't care if I AM still in pain from my surgery on the 14th. I'll be booking the babysitter the next time she comes over, that's for damn sure.
Who is performing, you ask? Only the two brilliant minds behind the BEST. SONG. EVER.
Anyone want to join us? I'll let you touch the new boobs. No squeezing, though. Maybe in June.

Regaining myself
Faith, I know I promised you this post months ago, but for various reasons, I'm only now getting around to it.
As many of you who read this blog on a regular basis, I've recently lost the extra weight that I had after Josie was born. Sadly, my boobs went with the weight. I went from this:

And anything you see in the last picture is mainly from Vicky's. My actual boobs don't fill a B cup anymore.
So, calls were made, , research was done, money put aside, and consultations were had.
Then my shower broke. Fortunately, our neighbor is going to help us fix it, and we have a shower downstairs that we've been using, so there's no urgency to get it fixed. *whew*
So I now have pre-surgery appointment with Dr. Bennett on Friday, April 25th (two days before my birthday!), and hopefully by the end of today I will have an appointment for surgery on Wednesday, May 14th.
I'm so excited! May's going to be a busy month anyway, but I really wanted to get this done before summer officially starts.
edited: Appointment made for 11:00am! squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

It's definitely winter.
Blah. I hate cold. I hate being cold, I hate having a cold (now turned into a sinus infection, yay!), I hate cold weather with a passion. Sadly, that passion doesn't really keep me warm, either.
In other news, Keith says we're going to get a nice tax refund back from the government. He asked me what I wanted to do with the money, and since I'd forgotten how much he told me we were getting back, I said we could just put it in savings, then figure out what to do with it. He repeated how much we were getting back, then asked me if I wanted to redo our master bath, or get new boobs.
What? Like that's even a choice? We all remember THIS rant, right?
So I'll be calling around starting tomorrow, and set up some consultations. I've already had a couple of recommendations, but if you have any, or any names of doctors I should stay away from, let me know.
And for the record, I'm now down to 130 lbs, but I'm actually smaller than I've ever been in my entire adult life. I had to go jean shopping a few weeks ago, my size 6's were to big! GAH! I HATE jean shopping. I recently bought two new dresses, including this one (in black) for Keith's upcoming work party, and I bought both of them in a size 4! I've NEVER been a size 4 anything! Now my jeans and my dresses are size 4. It's a bit odd getting used to, that's for sure. I still have my curves, thank the IPU. That dress looks way better on me that it does on the model!

W.T.F.
My youngest is 18 months old. Last year at this time, I was still nursing. I weighed 155 lbs, which was the heaviest I weighed during my pregnancy. I'm now down to 135 lbs. I've lost 20 lbs in a year, and I'm VERY happy about it. I can fit in my Tommy Hilfiger jeans again! Yay!
But my body, it's not the same shape. My boobs? They're GONE. I've never been smaller than a C cup before, and now.... they're just gone.
I think I'm gonna cry.
I LIKED my boobs. They were perfect.
Keith says we can just buy new ones, but ...... DAMMIT!
Oh well, anyone out there with 'enhanced' boobs that I can feel up, so I can figure out if I really want to go that route? Pretty please?
