when, people, when?

When are the sane Christians going to stand up and demand their religion back from the wacked out ultra conservative nut jobs? WHEN?

Right with God? Really? WHICH God would you be talking about? Not everyone believes in your God. In fact, the majority of American Christians DO NOT believe in your version of God.

The majority of Americans believe that abortions should be available to victims of rape and incest. The majority of Americans KNOW that abstinence-only sex-ed is a FAILURE. Most American Christians believe in EVOLUTION! (I always thought it was highly arrogant of humans on earth to tell God how he created us. Seriously. One of the many reasons I didn't do well in an apocalyptic religion.)

If I were a Christian, I'd be pissed off as hell over the way Bush & Co. has USED the ultra-conservative base to forward their crony-ism and self-interests. And they're trying to do it again.

I found it very interesting that several speakers at the RNC this past week attacked Obama on several points, but never offered solutions of their own. And Governor Palin flat out lied during her speech.

PALIN: "The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes, raise payroll taxes, raise investment income taxes, raise the death tax, raise business taxes, and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars."

THE FACTS: The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obama's plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCain's plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded.

Obama would provide $80 billion in tax breaks, mainly for poor workers and the elderly, including tripling the Earned Income Tax Credit for minimum-wage workers and higher credits for larger families.

He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise.

How many teachers do you know that make more than $250,000? Do you and your family make over $250,000? We don't, not by a long shot. Keith actually figured out the other night that he's making the same amount of money now that he was 8 years ago. Our income has not increased in the last 8 years. The price of gas has tripled, and the cost of food is rising fast. Are you making significantly more than you were 8 years ago? How many people do you know that received cost-of-living pay increases?

Sadly, many people will vote for her because they can "relate" to her. HELL-O! You voted in Bush because he seemed like the type of guy you could have a beer with! Look how well THAT'S been...

Vote on the issues, people. You know, the IMPORTANT stuff! *sigh*

edited to add: sorry about the weird photobucket thing, I can't find it to take it out.

Ahem and right on! I made two shirts on zazzle.com, and will be wearing them every Friday until election day! I figured that if people can walk around my office with crosses hanging on their necks, I can wear a tastefully designed (thank you very much) Obama shirt! :)
