in our house... of the flying variety...
s/he's sleeping right now... we called animal control, but their long grabby thing wasn't long enough, because s/he is in THE most inaccessible corner of our foyer.
weird.
edited to add at 10:30pm: we are bat-free! and laughing at ourselves for the silly attempts at catching the damn thing!

Don't let it bite you...vampires and all, ya know...
next time call a wildlife rescue group
We actually called Crittur Catchers, but they wanted $150 to remove it for us. We decided we'd just wait until it woke up, and 'encourage' it to leave.
trying to catch a bat with a towel is pretty damn funny, too.
The city directed us to two commercial pest removal companies. One wanted $150 to remove the bat. That's $2400/pound of bat for those of you keeping score.
I don't think the wildlife rescue groups are open on Sunday evenings or else that would have been a better option.
