So yesterday, Josie took her nap on my bedroom floor. That's where she fell asleep, and I'm still not supposed to lift her. About an hour after she fell asleep, Matthew fell asleep next to her, while watching tv. What's a momma to do when she's got two sleeping children? Take a nap, of course.
The problem? Josie woke up first, and the back sliding glass door was left open.
I was woken up by the doorbell ringing. It was a very nice neighbor bringing Josie back from her "walk" that she decided to take. (at least she put her shoes on, right?)
*sigh*
And this is the second time she's done this. The first time, Keith realized she was gone and was able to track her down. This time, I don't even dare imagine what would have happened if the neighbor lady hadn't found her and/or Josie hadn't been able to show her where she lived.
So very glad we live on a dead end street, so very very glad.
This weekend, we're putting a baby gate on the deck stairs. Twice is two times too many for my peace of mind.

GAH! I'm glad everything worked out...because GAH!!!!
yeah, me too!
OMG! So glad she's safe!
Why do they always try to scare us like that?
You can by door knob covers (we did when my daughter figured out doors), they make it so you really have to squeeze the door knob hard to open them. Worked like a charm.
It was the sliding glass door that was open. We allow them to play on the back deck unsupervised if we're in the kitchen since we can see out the windows and it's right next to the family room. I just forgot to shut it before we went back upstairs. Now that it's hot, we've turned the AC on (what a wonderful invention),so ALL the doors are shut now, even when we do go outside. Still gonna put up a baby gate on the deck stairs, though.
